Second post of the series about my a life-style change.
Some weeks ago, I have had a life style which I considered a bad work life balance. Most of the time I spend in front of my MacBook either sorting or editing pictures, coding some websites or writing stuff plus — worst — way to much procrastination — for example Twitter!
I considered that evil because I did not spend enough time on learning for school, doing sports and I did not spend enough time with friends!
First to the learning: I need to spend more time on learning this year. This year I attend 12th grade of a so called ‘BerufsOberschule’ (eng: College of Further Education) which will give me the right to study at a College (in Germany a ‘Fachhochschule’). But that kind of school is just a 3rd of a year long and I consider it hard to finish with great marks — to add: I attended a spanish foundation course as well. So I need to concentrate on learning to get of that school with a great examination!
Second about the Friends: Friends are crucial for everybody. I had just a few of which I really was able to talk to over the past years but that has changed now. I am happy about having people / friends around me. But sometimes I would like to spend some more time with them.
One last fact is sport: I would like to do more sport. Not just for my body but also for my mind. I would like to get more fresh air and to build some muscle power. All that can just be done by investing some time into it which I need to cut somewhere else.
These three things and some others are the main reasons for me writing this series. I have thought about my style-of-life a lot lately and that way I reconsider my style very often. The things I consider worth fighting for as well as the things I need to stop doing, reduce or the things I need to spend more time on.
Maybe it is just not possible to change everything. But hopefully it is possible to change as much as needed! I am also sure that I may do reconsider all of this very soon but for now I think this will be interesting for me to remember and share for someone who finds him self in the same situation.
This is my overview. This is the thing I would like to change. Next is the part where I see the problems.
24 October, people in 181 countries came together for the most widespread day of environmental action in the planet’s history. At over 5200 events around the world, people gathered to call for strong action and bold leadership on the climate crisis.

One more event concerning the Climate Change happened this weekend. Named 350 it mainly covers the CO2 concentration in the atmosphere.
Scientists say that 350 parts per million CO2 in the atmosphere is the safe limit for humanity. Learn more about 350 – what it means, where it came from, and how to get there Read More »

An awesome idea to get people taking the stairs! And it saves the power normally consumed by the moving stairs.

We believe that the easiest way to change people’s behaviour for the better is by making it fun to do. We call it The fun theory. Do you have an idea that uses fun to change behaviour?

This weekend the event “Stand Up — Take Action — Against Poverty” took part all over the world. All over the world people organized single events to Stand Up for the realization of the UN-Millenniumgoals! The final number of participants will be published the 22. of October at standagainstpoverty.org.
Foe me this was exiting. I had to talk in front of about 120 people, for the first time such a great number. But in the end it was a success. 120 young people stood up and took action to tell the governments that they need to take action. I hope something will change. I believe we are able to get close to succeeding the UN-Millenniumgoal.
And for me it showed me something else. Maybe I should try talking more. Maybe that is something I could do more often.

Climatic Change. The topic of this years Blog Action Day ‘09. But is it just the Blog Action Day?
Climate change affects us all and it threatens more than the environment. It threatens to cause famine, flooding, war, and millions of refugees.
~ Blog Action Day ‘09
I think everybody knows that it is not just about the Blog Action Day, it is more about every day life. And we have to change something about the Climate Change. We need the environment. The environment does not care about us but we need to care about the environment.
One of the biggest problems is that the Climate Change will not just harm our environment. It is going to harm our whole lifestyle. It is going to change technology, money, business, our food and land, water and the temperature. And most other aspects of life too.
There is need that something changes and I hope together with over 9,040 we can achieve this change — or at least force some people to think about it. Make more than 12,597,554 readers aware of the problems — or at least get them to think about it again — is not bad and seriously a great step to remind the theme.
I am just one person with a blog, but here with the Blog Action Day we are over 9,040 Blogs writing about the issue and all together gather about 12,597,554 readers which are about 0.2% of the worlds population — not taking into account that some people are reading two or more blogs. That is a great number and I personally hope that we can change something.
I AM READY for an ambitious, fair, and binding global climate deal. I call on world leaders to pass climate policies grounded in the latest science and strong enough to get us back to 350.

I hope that the issue is interesting for everybody and you read some more about it at blogactionday.org. Maybe you are also interested in 350.org which also issues the Climate Change. The last resource I would like to add is tcktcktck.org’s I AM READY event which addresses the hopefully signed climate deal in Copenhagen this year!
I take this post for the one normally posted friday morning.
UPDATE: Some numbers changed!
Two payments later, and as of last Wednesday I am completely debt free.

I got my life back in order.
~ Pat Dryburgh
I am happy for him that he got his life back in order and an now restart. I personally hope that I hopefully will not have to go into any deeps but at the moment I am not yet out of school which means I have not experienced life in its overall.
Congrats to Pat Dryburgh for his achievement and I wish everybody to get his life back on track — if its of track — and everybody who is on track to stay there!

I am a person who is likely to get fuzzy about geek things. Mostly I get really exited about getting a new gadget like a new MacBook or a Lens for my Camera or anything like. This state of excitement has it ups and downs. Ups are that I tend to get what I want if I want it enough, that I stay informed and get the stuff at a really cheap price — due to long research. Downs are that I tend to spend way to much time on researching — which should be spend on school stuff.
Lately I have thought about upgrading my MacBook to a new MacBook Pro 13″/15″ if they update the line in October. I can not review how much time I spend on researching the pros and cons of the different models, how to get the cheapest price and on the rumors — if apple is going to updated the line.
Finally that researching ended by attending a new school mid September — which I was not able to see how hard it would be to hold up the good marks. Now I am in there for 2.5 weeks and have noticed that I am not going to have much time to do some work besides school. That — being a bad thing — should be taken as granted, which means that I am not going to need a new MacBook Pro anytime soon — besides till now everything works fine at my 2.16GHz CPU / 4GB RAM / 64MB Shared-Grafic RAM white 13″ MacBook. Now I think about buying a new MacBook Pro at the end of the year.
The main aspect is about the fact that I will not have any time to spend on my MacBook doing stuff like massive Picture editing or anything alike.
My Conclusion: I will wait, use my running machine and study!
